FUEL, INFLATION AND MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE EFFECTIVE

There has been no increase in public transportation ticket fares in Istanbul for approximately 25 years since 2017 May 3. During this time, due to the increase in fuel, inflation, minimum wages and operating costs, public transportation costs rose by approximately 43 percent.

IMM President Ekrem İmamoğluBy order of 's, it was decided not to reflect the increase in costs to the citizens fully, and an increase rate below this increase was applied to the electronic ticket prices.

Thus, while the citizens were protected, tradesmen providing public transportation services were also prevented from being crushed against inflation.

We hope that this increase, which is compulsory for public transport services to be carried out without interruption, will be met with understanding by Istanbulites.
