The removal of discounts applied to High Speed Train (YHT) subscription tickets was reflected in ticket prices as an exorbitant increase. However, it has been announced that this hike will only contribute 2.5 million lira to TCDD's safe, which is 40 billion lira a year.
SözcüAccording to the report of Ali Ekber Ertürk from; “At the TBMM KIT Subcommittee meeting held at the TCDD General Directorate the day before, CHP Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz asked how much income would enter TCDD's safe as a result of the removal of the discounts. TCDD officials also stated that an annual contribution of 40-50 million lira is expected. Yavuzyılmaz said, "Ear at the camel with 2.5 billion losses," and said:
"It is understood that this practice will remain in the camel in reducing the annual loss of TCDD, and the victimization of the citizens will continue."
