Bicycle and City Workshop Held in Balıkesir

Bicycle and Urban Workshop was held to promote the use of bicycles as a means of transportation, to design bicycle routes and routes, and to promote cycling tourism.

In cooperation with Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, Youth Sports Provincial Directorate, Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and 20 district municipalities, Bicycle and Urban Workshop was held in order to design bicycle routes in the city, to facilitate access to bicycles, to develop alternative tourism opportunities, to contribute to rural tourism and to promote bicycle tourism in the city. Secretary General of Metropolitan Municipality Mustafa Küçükkaptan, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, Lokman Arıcıoğlu, Deputy Secretary General of Metropolitan Municipality Hüseyin Turan, Hüseyin Deniz, heads of relevant departments, bicycle clubs in Balıkesir and Associations and representatives from 20 district municipalities attended.

TARGET, BICYCLE FOR TRANSPORT

Making the opening speech of the meeting, Secretary General Mustafa Küçükkaptan stated that they, as the Metropolitan Municipality, aim to spread the use of bicycles in Balıkesir and raise awareness on this issue.
