Konya Metropolitan Municipality, which has been working to open alternative roads to some roads to be closed due to the construction of the metro, which is the most important investment in the history of Konya, has started work on Sultan Abdülhamid Han Street, which will connect Beyşehir Ring Road and Fırat Avenue.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality is implementing Sultan Abdülhamid Han Street between Beyşehir Ring Road and Fırat Street.

Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that some roads will be closed due to the construction works of the metro project, which is the biggest public investment to be brought to the city, and alternative roads will be needed in order to ease the city traffic.

Stating that Sultan Abdülhamid Han Street, which will provide the connection between Beyşehir Ring Road and Fırat Avenue, is being implemented within this scope, President Altay said that the total length of the street is 14.5 kilometers and the road width is 20 meters. Mayor Altay said, “The works between the 4.5 km Semavi Street, which is the first stage of the street, and Beyhekim Street, continue at full speed. With our bicycle path, sidewalks, median and quality asphalt, our street will significantly relieve the traffic of the region when completed. Hopefully we want to complete the first stage by the end of the year. ”

In addition to Sultan Abdülhamid Han Street, which will be built in Selçuklu district, in order to ease the traffic due to the subway construction, it is planned to gain Celaleddin Karatay Street in Karatay district and İsmail Ketenci Street in Meram district.

Sultan Abdülhamid Han Street will cost 68 million liras, excluding expropriation and infrastructure investments.
