The high-speed railway line, which started in 2003 with the foundation of the Ankara-Istanbul High-Speed Railway Line, has reached a length of 1.213 kilometers. New routes will be added to the lines under construction. TCDD and TCDD Tasimacilik, which took action to meet the increasing demand for high speed trains, reached an agreement with Siemens company from Germany in 2018 to supply 12 High Speed Train (YHT) sets.
Siemens, the world brand in the railway sector, delivered two of these sets in a short time. The sets that will be put into service by testing for two months will provide a significant capacity increase. It is planned that the other 10 high speed train sets will be delivered in stages and delivery will be completed by the end of 2020.

In addition, with the participation of 12 YHT sets, express services will be organized on the long-distance tracks, thereby reducing travel time between Ankara-Istanbul and Konya-Istanbul by 30 minutes.
