IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, CNR opened the 7th International Book Fair. In his opening speech, he said, “There are some elements that will take us to a point in the world. Especially the interest in the book or the number of publications in a country, the efficiency of universities, the worldwide position of scientific articles there... Otherwise, you cannot send a message to the world. Using the expressions, "Especially, you cannot adjust the world by shouting and calling," İmamoğlu also answered the question of the journalists about the transportation hike at the exit of the fair. Emphasizing that citizens are right about the hike reaction, İmamoğlu said, “We are aware of living in Turkey, living conditions and economic difficulties. We know this. for 3 years; There is an Istanbul transportation that has not made a hike since May 2017. Our buses have not hiked for 3 years. But we have no chance to withstand this price storm in Turkey. We are struggling with an increase of at least 2 times the increase we made regarding all costs. What we do now; efforts to continue our service,” he said.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğluattended the opening ceremony of the CNR 8th International Book Fair, which can be visited between 16-7 February. At the opening of the fair, İmamoğlu was attended by CHP İstanbul Deputy Özgür Karabat, Bakırköy Mayor Bülent Kerimoğlu, İBB President Advisor Murat Ongun and İBB Kültür A.Ş. General Manager Serdal Taşkın also accompanied him. At the ceremony, CNR Holding Chief Executive Officer Ali Bulut and the guest of honor of the fair, writer Ahmet Ümit, made speeches. İmamoğlu, who came to the microphone after Ümit, made the opening speech of the fair. Emphasizing that it was very exciting for him to accompany the Book Fair, İmamoğlu said, “From the beginning, I take care to attend book fairs. In this sense, I would like to thank all the book lovers here and everyone who contributed to this fair.”

INTENSIVE INTEREST TO IMAMOGLU AT THE FAIR
After İmamoğlu's speech, the opening ribbon of the fair was cut. Imamoglu started stand trips after cutting the ribbon. İmamoğlu, who visited 3 stands of Kültür A.Ş., fulfilled the requests to take photos from the citizens. İmamoğlu, who progressed with difficulty in the stand area due to the intense interest, also had the opportunity to meet with some writers who had a signature day.
