Dean of Technology Faculty of Düzce University Dr. Ayhan Şamandar gave a conference titled 'Contributions of High Speed Train to Bolu' at the Turkish Quarries Bolu Branch. Ayhan Şamandar pointed out that the high speed train line planned to be constructed between Ankara and Istanbul should pass through Düzce-Bolu-Gerede route, and explained the reasons for the Düzce-Bolu-Gerede line to the Turkish people with scientific data.

At the conference held at the Turkish Ocaklar Bolu Branch, the Dean of Düzce University Faculty of Technology explaining why the high-speed train line planned to be built between Ankara and Istanbul should pass through the Düzce-Bolu-Gerede line. Dr. Ayhan Şamandar said that the high-speed train is the most important project that will change the fate of the region.

Indicating that the Japanese scientists also stated that the high-speed train should pass through Düzce-Bolu-Gerede route, Ayhan Şamandar emphasized that more than 125 thousand passengers will be carried on this line and the investment will return in 15 years.

Istanbul can be reached in 70 Ankara in 50 minutes

Saying that the fate of the region will change as the high-speed train line passes through Düzce and Bolu, Şamandar said, “Japanese scientists who came to Düzce after the earthquake told me that we have no difference with you. I was also surprised. How come? You have only one shortcoming to me; now I understand Japanese scientists who call it high-speed train better. The high-speed train line planned between Ankara and Istanbul passes through Beypazarı and Mudurnu, but it does not stop in Beypazarı or Mudurnu. Moreover, this line goes parallel to the fault line. It is a completely planned line between Ankara and Istanbul in 80 minutes. We say, Let's implement the Düzce-Bolu-Gerede line instead of this line. West Black Sea from Düzce; Let Zonguldak and Ereğli reach the Central Black Sea high-speed train from Gerede. Again, 80 minutes to reach Istanbul from Ankara. But there are different trains. Train A never stops between Ankara and Istanbul. Train B stops in two places. Train C stops everywhere and trains run one after another every 15 minutes. Then a minimum of 125 thousand passengers will be carried on this line. This number will be higher, but we calculated the lowest. The investment will return after 15 years. "The high-speed train passing through Bolu means over 10 million tourists annually, opening the 2nd university to Bolu, increasing income. Of course, we need to prepare our cities for this situation in advance."

After the conference, Bolu Turkish Hearth President Assoc. Dr. Hamdi Zenginbal, Prof. Dr. Ayhan Şamandar presented a certificate of appreciation. – Boluekspres
