Cahit Turhan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, said in a statement on a private television channel that they would do the Kanal Istanbul project and send the invoice to the IMM and said, “Yes, all the investments we make are rent projects. We are looking at the profitability of our projects feasibility. Why not make a project that is not profitable ”.

Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğluMinister Turhan, who said that the Kanal Istanbul project does not have the authority to stop or change it, stated that the first digging for the project will be done this year. Noting that the project went through the IMM's Parliament at the time, Turhan said for IMM President Imamoglu, "He cannot decide this on his own, and he turned away from the judiciary. You are not authorized to withdraw from this protocol. You have to get the City Council decision. Most don't. We are the state. A mayor in Istanbul has no right to stop a state project. This is decided by the authorized bodies of the state government. We also send the invoice to the municipality. As soon as he pays within the scope of the law, he gives the legal decision. Our goal is to bring it to life in 2026," he said.

'YES IS ALL INVESTMENTS RANT PROJECT'

Stating that those who claim that the Kanal Istanbul project is a rent project, they will benefit from the project rent themselves, Turhan said, “Yes, all the investments we make are the rent project. This country is intended to bring arrival. Rent is what profit means. We are looking at the profitability of our projects feasibility. Why not make a project that is not profitable ”.
