President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the first rail welding ceremony of the Gayrettepe Istanbul Airport metro project in Eyüpsultan. Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan said, "We will connect Istanbul to all four points of our country with high-speed train lines."
We have really survived the transportation services to Istanbul. Marmaray first, what were they saying? 'We do not it done. İstemezük. ' Who was saying? This was called the CHP mentality. They could not see because they passed under the sea from Allah, we did it. I just got the last figure since its opening, do you know how many Istanbulites or people have been there? 500 million. This is us. Even their dreams cannot reach places we have reached. Be careful from the land, we are the descendants of Fatih, who floated and passed the galleys. Our grandfather Fatih passed the galleys from the land and lowered them to the Golden Horn, and we made both Marmaray under the sea following our grandfather's footsteps, and then opened the Eurasia Tunnel. Now, those who say 'We don't want' pass through Marmaray? Passing. Does it pass through the Eurasia tunnel? Passing. But there is a good word in them that the ingenuity is subject to compliment. But we will continue to serve our nation whether they want it or not. ”
“WE WILL CONNECT ISTANBUL TO A FOUR POINT OF OUR COUNTRY”
Expressing that they encountered the same reactions while the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge was being built, Erdoğan said:
“What did they say? İstemezük. Did we do it? We did. I hope we will also build a rail system there as a third line on the bridge. Did we make the Osmangazi Bridge? We did. We put the first stage of our Istanbul Airport into service with them. Can you imagine that we have now reduced Izmir-Istanbul between 3 hours and 15 minutes. We lowered an 8-8,5 hour road here. Mr. Kemal, a deputy from Izmir, get up and say thank you. No. Why? This is not in their mentality. Because they do not both serve and thank those who serve. We provided Istanbul's connections with Ankara, Eskişehir, Konya, Bilecik, Kocaeli and Sakarya by high-speed train. We will connect Istanbul to all four points of our country with the high-speed train lines under construction. I hope Istanbul will spread this reputation as one of the biggest cities in the world as the mega city of the world. We opened some of the Kınalı-Odayeri and Kurtköy-Akyazı sections of the Northern Marmara Motorway to traffic. We are opening the remaining parts to service in the coming months. ”
