President Yavaş: 'The People Will Decide For Ankara New Metro Projects!' Meeting with the capital's local journalists, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş said, “We prepared a project to take the metro to the airport in Keçiören via Siteler. We met with the Ministry of Transport. When we learned in our interviews that this line will be made as planned by them, we withdrew from the line. We are preparing the project of a 6-stop subway, starting from the sewing house and going to Mamak. In addition, we will ask the public about a metro line that we will consider. Why are we going to ask the public? If we build the metro, we will borrow the municipality for 15-20 years. We do not do this without asking the public. " said.

President Yavaş answered the questions of the journalists one by one in the meeting held at the Youth Park Guest House and where journalists showed great interest.

“WE WILL RECEIVE ANTICLE 300 BUSS IN THE FIRST STAGE”

Answering the questions of journalists, President Yavaş made the following statements:

“Our work on buses continues. We made our assignment to sign the contract. The process continues, but the sooner the better, the better for us. It will also be good for Ankara residents. In the meantime, in order to solve some transportation problems, we are negotiating to find out how many people get on the bus from which stop, at what time, and to various companies within the smart Ankara project. We want to learn how many people are in traffic, how many buses are carrying. The average age of buses is over 10. The world average is 6,5 years. There is a problem like this, but we will solve it somehow. As this is an important need and human life is in question, we will try to solve 300 buses by taking them in the first place. ”

WE WILL ASK YOUR METRO LINES

Noting that they want to overcome Ankara's traffic problem with the rail system, Mayor Yavaş said:

“We prepared a project to take the subway to the airport in Keçiören through Siteler. We met with the Ministry of Transport. When we learned that this line will be done in the way they planned in our interviews, we withdrew from the line. We are preparing the project of a subway with 6 stops, starting from the Sewing House and going to Mamak. We will also ask the public a subway line that we will consider. Why are we going to ask the public? If we make the metro, we will charge the municipality for 15-20 years. We don't do this without asking the public. ”

Stating that they are planning two light rail projects besides the metro lines, Mayor Yavaş added that one of these lines will start from Bentderesi and return from Kuğulu Park, and the other is a line to go to Karapürçek by passing through Siteler.
