Turkey's Antarctic expedition held that the countdown has begun for the 4th science. Before the expedition, which will start on February 9, a team of 24 was given a “survival” training on the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Ship. Participants who completed their education and received their certificates will carry out scientific studies in 15 different areas, especially in climate change and maritime research, in strategic and important regions of the White Continent Antarctica.
CONSULTANT COUNTRY STATUS

Within the scope of the trainings carried out, the team, who has experience in expedition to Antarctica, was transferred to the entire team under the leadership of experts in the field, to stay alive at sea, fire prevention, fire fighting, communication at sea and basic first aid information. Within the scope of the training, the 'leave the ship' drill was carried out with the worst scenario in mind. The team, which also performed the landing and exiting of the ship's boats with rope ladders called the cross, and the injuries were also informed about the intervention.
THEY SHOULD IN THE ISLAND
The team of 24 people, who are ready for the task by completing their survival training, will fly to Brazil first on Friday, February 9, and then join the ship from Chile. The team will anchor on Horseshoe Island, where the Temporary Turkish Science Camp is stationed, and will work with helicopters and boats. Staff of the Naval Forces will conduct a seabed mapping study, scientists will collect microscopic algae from the island of Horseshoe and its shores, and the findings will be biotechnologically evaluated.

Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin will be accompanied by the science team going to Antarctica, from the South Shetland team islands of Antarctica to King George Island.
