BTS, "IF SIGNALIZATION WAS NOT FACIAA"
In March 2016, Gülermak-Kolin Partnership and TCDD signed a contract for the High Speed Train line. According to the agreement, the system between Ankara and Kayaş had to be completed in January 2018 and the Ankara-Sincan line where the disaster took place in October 2017.
The contract was signed for 36 months, although the time set for the completion of the project was 17 months. Before the June 24th election, the opening was made before the signaling system for the "political show" was completed.
While the warnings of BTS's invitation to the disaster were not taken into account by the AKP Government, the disaster occurred on 13 December 2018.
In a statement made by BTS after the disaster, “We made our warnings to the authorities before this line opened. This accident would not happen if the signaling system worked. This system controls traffic on railways. Even if there is an employee error here, this signaling is capable of preventing this. This line was opened on April 12 before the election. We made our warnings at that time and said that there was no signaling. ”
“I thought I had changed the line”
In the indictment, the train station officer Osman Yildirim made his defense because the accused alleged that the accident occurred because he forgot to change the scissors that allowed the trains to enter different rails according to their direction of departure.
Yıldırım said, “I thought I was doing it but I did not. The accident happened because the train that had to go on Line 2 went from Line 1 ”.
Since the heating system did not work on the scissors, Yıldırım stated that the scissors were frozen and told the following about the event day:
“The scissor named M74 was not working and was never shown to me. They did not employ workers after 23.00 in order not to work overtime, as the workers' work was high. I did not know that I would work alone that day. At 4-5 o'clock, there was a frost warning on scissors on radios from Eryaman. I was trying to make the scissors of the 12th road with the instructions of the operations officer. It was frozen and the scissors were frozen. The scissors did not have a heating system. Normally the scissors have a heating system but it was not working. I had trouble making scissors. The operations officer said that the train would come from the 13th road. I dealt with it and did it. This time I went to make the scissors on the 11th road that crashed.
My hands and feet were frozen. I've been cold since 4-5. I probably didn't lock it. I went into the cabin. I did the 11's scissors. Making scissors wrong is a common occurrence on the railway. They have not taken measures for this. The train passed in front of me but it is impossible to see which is even. Then the accident occurred and I went into shock. I'm still in shock. ”
Yıldırım responded to the court president's question, "Did you make scissors?" "I thought I did it, I did not."
"The cold weather, my only work and no training caused me to make mistakes," said Yıldırım.
"MISSION WITHOUT TRAINING"
Osman Yıldırım lawyer Mehmet Eker said, “There are more than one scissors on some lines, all of them need to be arranged. On the day of the incident, Yıldırım is in charge of arranging multiple scissors. My client had five more training courses, and none of them had any. ”
Yıldırım, answering the questions of Lawyer Eker,
“There was no cleaning tool to use for snow cleaning in the scissor shed. The shed was not somewhere where I could see the M74 truss. He stated that there were no red and green flags used for warning in the cottage. ”

Defendant Sinan Yavuz, a motion officer, stated the following in his defense:
“It is my duty to refer a train. On the day of the accident, I sent the guide train first. Then I waited for collateral from Osman Yıldırım. After a while, Yıldırım called me and said that there was no locking sound on the M90 scissors. So I told the coming train to come slowly. As the train entered, I called Yıldırım on the technical phone. He said it was okay because the scissors cleared the jam.
It was stated that the guide train came to Eryaman. Scissors separating M74 line 1 and line 2. It is necessary to give approval via the system. I followed your approval. A few minutes later, he called traffic control. I called the mechanic at 06:30 and sent the train. Since there is no signal system, we have no chance to notice. We have no chance to follow, we don't have a chance to know from which line he went.
An average of 60 trains run per day. Starting from the 74th of December, M9 was constantly changing for 5-10 minutes depending on the traffic situation. Lines 1 and 2 had been opened for 9 months. I, like every day, provided shipment on that day. ”
I ACCEPT THE STATEMENT
Emin Ercan Erbay, the arrested accused traffic controller, said in his defense:
“The day of the incident started routinely. It is not possible to see the position of the scissors from where I sit. I accept the statement as the basis. I did what I did every day.
The signaling system ends in Sincan. There is no system that shows the direction of the trains on the board I am looking at. If it were, none of us would be here today. ”

THE STAFF WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR TWO COUNTRIES
Deputy Director of TCDD Train Station Kadir Oğuz stated the following in his defense:
“I have been working in Ankara since 2006. I worked between 08:00 and 18:00 on weekdays. I was resting in my house on the day of the accident.
Personnel planning takes into account the train density within 24 hours.
23: 00-07: 00 one person will have a night watch. When scissors movements are compared, if one person can do a job and two people, the personnel at hand is insufficient. It is impossible to give two people to the night watch with seven staff members. ”

“When it comes to training, there is an order to work for 5 days to adapt to the new workplace. When Osman Yıldırım came, we were doing the maneuvers from the east. “The machinists go to the right of the route in multiple lines. He was ordered to go from line 1. On the day of the accident, line 1 is open on line 2. According to the legislation, it would go from line 1. I don't know why the machinists didn't question why he was on line 2. ”
When the lawyer of Makasçi Osman Yıldırım asked if he had been given many trainings according to the regulations, Kadir Oğuz said, “These trainings were not given because Osman Yıldırım came with temporary education. These trainings are given by staff members. ”
