Transport and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan said, “We are aiming to start the test drives in the March-393-kilometer-long Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line on the Buzai-Yerkoy-Akdagmadeni section and complete the project in the second quarter of 2020,” said Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.
Within the scope of Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train (YHT) Project, rail laying works in the direction of Yerköy-Sivas continue. While 87 percent of the work is completed in the rail laying works, the remaining parts will be completed in March 2020 and then test drives will begin.
Yozgat Governor Kadir Çakır examined the section where the rail was laid and received information from Mehmet Baser, the Construction Center Construction Project Manager. Yozgat is a city with many beauties, both geothermally and historically. It will make a great contribution to the promotion of our city and the formation of economic investments. Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Bilgihan Yeşilyurt and Provincial Police Deputy Director Soner Özyer accompanied Governor Çakır within the scope of the rail laying program.
When the project is completed, it will reduce Sivas-Ankara to two hours and Ankara-Yozgat to approximately one hour. Ankara-Sivas YHT Project, Sivas-Erzincan, Erzincan-Erzurum-Kars high-speed train lines will be integrated into the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
