Antalya Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with NGOs and public institutions' Barrier-Free Service Commission in order to benefit from public transport for disabled people discussed the work to be more comfortable. In Antalya, people with disabilities will now be able to hear which bus stop they are on by public warning.

Haşim İşcan Cultural Center meeting held in the Metropolitan Municipality Disabled Services Branch Manager Muzaffer Şahin, related department managers, public institutions and representatives of disabled NGOs attended. At the meeting, where the decisions of the Commission were evaluated, new steps to be taken were discussed. The requests of NGOs representatives who requested improvement for disabled citizens in the 3rd Stage Varsak-Otogar Rail System Line, which was added to the transportation network of Antalya, were received regarding public transportation.


Public transportation vehicles and stops for disabled citizens to make arrangements for easy transportation describing the Disabled Services Branch Manager Muzaffer Sahin, especially in the public bus buses to facilitate the journey of the signaling systems will be completed within a month, said that all vehicles will be fully active.


Sahin gave the following information: “Our disabled citizens will be able to hear the bus stop during the journey with an audible warning system. Our work continues to make our stops unobstructed. In addition, we will provide in-service trainings for our public transport drivers to improve our service quality. We will carry out on-site inspection and improvement works in line with the demands of our CSOs in the 3rd Stage Rail System Line, which has just started to serve. ”
