Thales Wins Australia Sydney Metro Subway Extension Tender

Thales won the tender to extend Sydney Metro to the City and Southwest and signed the Central Control and Communication contract.

This contract for the expansion of Sydney Metro's Central Control and Communication Systems is a very large project. Signed a 250 million AUD (€ 153 million) contract with Hong Kong-based MTR Corporation to expand to City Metro and Southwest (SMCSW).

Thales will design, manufacture, supply, test and commission Central Control and Communication Systems in the SMCSW expansion project. It is an extension of the Sydney Metro North West (SMNW) project, and its network covers 66 kilometers of railway lines and 31 metro stations from Chatswood, under Sydney Harbor, and Sydney's CBD to Sydenham.
