İzmir Metropolitan Municipality takes the transportation cooperatives working in districts outside the city center under the control of ESHOT General Directorate and includes them in the public transportation network. Buses called İZTAŞIT depart from Seferihisar instead of minibuses.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is signing off on an important project that will increase public transportation opportunities to districts outside the city center. Motor carriers' cooperatives, which generally serve with minibuses, are included in Izmir's public transportation network. The first step of the project will be taken from Seferihisar. The new buses, called İZTAŞIT, will be introduced in the district center on Saturday, December 28 and will start their journey. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Tunç Soyer will also attend.
Within the scope of the project, transportation cooperatives operating in a dispersed way in Seferihisar were gathered under one roof. Vehicle owners purchased 28 new buses of a uniform type by joining forces. The vehicles were prepared in accordance with the public transportation in the İnciraltı Garage of ESHOT General Directorate.
Boarding with Izmirim Card
İZTAŞIT flights will start between Seferihisar and İzmir on 29 December Sunday. As with all public transportation vehicles, İZTAŞITs will be boarded with “İzmirim Card”. Timetables can be viewed on the ESHOT website and on the ESHOT application, which can be installed on smartphones.
Disabled and over 65
ESHOT buses with 40% or more disabled report owners who are entitled to "free" boarding passengers, a companion of the heavy handicapped people and citizens over 65 years of age will also be able to get free of charge to İZTAŞITs with the photo İZMİRİM KART, which they can get free of charge from İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Seferihisar Local Service Directorate.
ESHOT will be supervised
Vehicles, drivers and cooperative management will be under the control of ESHOT. All trainings given to ESHOT drivers will also be given to İZTAŞIT drivers on a regular basis. ESHOT will also make transportation plans. The management of Seferihisar-Ürkmez Tasimacilik Cooperation No. 43 will follow the working order and departure times. Both vehicle owners and the ESHOT General Directorate Computer Center will see the data of the fare collection devices (validators) to be installed in İZTAŞITs. The sum of revenues and free boardings per vehicle will be paid regularly to vehicle owners every month.
Frequent expeditions to each neighborhood
Only İZTAŞIT buses will provide public transportation services on Seferihisar-İzmir and Ürkmez-İzmir lines and within Seferihisar. There will be no neighborhoods and villages left by the İZTAŞITs that will work with frequent expeditions. İZTAŞITs will use existing ESHOT stops. The risks created by minibuses in traffic will be eliminated.
It will spread to all districts
İZTAŞIT'ların in the near future in the peninsula, then in all the surrounding districts of Izmir is targeted to work. In this direction, ESHOT General Directorate continues to negotiate with the administrations of motor carriers cooperatives serving in districts.
Characteristics of İZTAŞIT
The eight-meter-long vehicles can seat 21 passengers, 60 of them sitting. Equipped with the latest technology, comfortable, Euro 6 emission standards, disabled friendly, air-conditioned, camera and low-floor buses, thanks to the GPRS device is compatible with the fleet tracking system.
