Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu, "Our only goal is to give an account to 16 million people," and shared the first 23-month period of action after June 6 with the public at a press conference. Listing the actions taken by IMM and its subsidiaries in many areas, from debt payments to metro investments, from projects developed for children and women to green space creation, İmamoğlu said, "Now, no one can do business in this city with public money in closed doors without account. No one can say, 'I said, it will happen,'" he said.

Emamoglu emphasized that the city is in safe hands and the period of sitting in the city is over, “Sitting also went”. “We will make the decisions together with our 16 million Istanbulites and our 39 mayors who are their representatives, İm said İmamoğlu.“ Whatever they do, they will not prevent us. We will never stop looking for the 16 million. We will never, ever give up the anti-democratic ways and methods that will turn against us. We will not back down in any way when it comes to the rights of 16 million. We'il never shut up. We want everyone to talk. We will never take any excuse in any form. We will produce solutions to the problems of this sacred city and the needs of 16 million. And we will surely succeed. Because we work for 16 million, not for a small interest group. We have youth and energy for this. We have the excitement and faith for this. We were very successful in 6 months. We will be much more successful. We will be a model to the world ”. Emphasizing that the attack on the mayors of the CHP has become a tradition, Imamoglu said he was protesting the slander campaigns against the Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavas and Urla Mayor Burak Oguz.

IK FOCUS ON TRANSPORT AND METRO ”

İmamoğlu stated that the basic principles of the people's money are certain and listed them as follows:

“Never allow waste. Save the maximum. Don't spend resources on unnecessary, futile and non-priority jobs. Use available resources for the priority needs of 16 million people, especially in the areas of education, health, transportation, environment, disaster work and urban poverty. In particular, 39 District municipalities; manage the city's investments with democratic participation and common sense. " Following the financial summary, İmamoğlu explained the services they provided and the new projects they initiated. Emphasizing that they are doing a quick job in the field of transportation, İmamoğlu said, “As soon as we came to work, we started to search for new financing while implementing savings measures. You know, we visited France, Denmark, Germany and England consecutively. We found resources for metro investments that had been completely stopped for more than 2 years and restarted construction on 3 important lines. We focused on the biggest problem of this beloved city that could not be solved for years, transportation and metro. And we got results in the first 6 months when we did not have any resources and public banks were not willing to give funds ”. İmamoğlu started working on 2017 metro lines, whose construction activities were suspended in December 3 due to lack of financing; (Ümraniye - Ataşehir - Göztepe), (Çekmeköy - Sancaktepe - Sultanbeyli), (Kaynarca - Pendik - Tuzla) stated that they started again with the financial support of 371 million Euros they provided. Noting that when these 3 projects are completed, Istanbul will have a new metro line of 36.9 kilometers, İmamoğlu gave two good news to the citizens living in the city. İmamoğlu stated that in case the financial works are completed, Mahmutbey - Mecidiyeköy Metro Line, which is two important lines under construction, will be put into service in the first half of 2020 and Eminönü Alibeyköy Tram Line will be opened in the second half of 2020.

“WE STARTED 24 HOURS UNINTERRUPTED TRANSPORT”

Reminding that they have started a 30-hour uninterrupted transportation tariff on weekends and public holidays starting from August 24 in Istanbul, İmamoğlu noted that they switched to the night-time business practice on 6 metro lines. Stating that 4 thousand passengers used the night flights in the first 900 months, İmamoğlu added that they started 24-hour non-stop services on the Adalar line. Imamoğlu said that they opened 2 thousand new IstanbulKart corporate filling points; He also stated that they started the payment service with IstanbulKart and credit cards in all of the open, multi-storey and on-the-road ISPARK car parks. Saying that they describe a “fair, green and creative” vision for Istanbul, İmamoğlu said, “You can see both the traces of the will of 6 million Istanbulites and the traces of our vision and management philosophy together in our 16-month performance. Combating transportation, education, environment and urban poverty was at the top of our investment priorities during the 6-month period of execution. ”
