Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Gaziray Commuter Line Information Meeting was held, information about the 5 kilometer underground works initiated for the Gaziray Project was given.
In the Gaziray Project, which is one of the mega-projects of the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Fatma Şahin, the works accelerated towards the end. The information meeting where the latest situation in the project was discussed was held in the Assembly Hall of the Metropolitan Municipality. Within the scope of Gaziray Project, the information meeting on the 5 kilometer line that will pass through the city by open-close method; neighborhood headmen, shopkeepers, Gaziantep City Council officials and representatives of related non-governmental organizations will be affected.
GÜZELBEY: SOME WAYS WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC
At the meeting, GAZİRAY Commuter Line Project completed the above-ground part, 5 kilometer underground part of the work was reported to be started. Due to the work was pointed out that some roads will be closed to traffic, citizens were asked to be tolerant during this time.
Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Erdem Guzelbey, Gaziray Suburban Line Project completed the above-mentioned works, said: “Under the project Gaziray's 5 kilometer underground work will be started because of some roads, traffic will be closed. Gaziray is a very important project for Gaziantep, 5 kilometers of the underground part, 4 station will be found. The tender for the 5 kilometer section of Gaziray underground has been completed and the works have started. In this process, some roads will be closed. Roads can be covered for a long time. Alternative road traffic will be relieved. However, there will be some problems in transportation. Our request is for you to tolerate these difficulties. ”
Güzelbey said that the transportation network of the city will be strengthened at the end of the project and added: “This project will add a very positive value to our city and will bring the city to the metropolis level. This project, which will extend from Taşlıca to Organized Industrial Zone, will also include high speed train and 3 high speed train station. In this way, our city will gain a higher rank in the connection point between the other cities. RAYBUS connection from Taşlıca to Nizip will be realized. It will also be integrated into this system. Thus, the city's transport network will be connected with each other. As a top stage of this, our metro works will start. Within the framework of these works, there will be a situation of closing the roads. We would like to ask you mukhtars and residents to support us in this process. ”
Following the speech, Hasan Kömürcü, Head of Transportation Planning and Rail Systems Department of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality informed the participants about possible problems. The technical committee answered the questions of the participants and wished the Gaziray Commuter Line Project to be beneficial to the city.
