Kars Governor Türker Öksüz, in his speech at the certificate delivery ceremony, stated that Kars is developing in winter tourism day by day and said, “As you all know, Kars is a tourism city. One of the parts of tourism is winter tourism. We serve winter tourism in Sarıkamış, which is a very important cultural tourism center both for our city and for our country. Sarıkamış is progressing to become one of the important winter centers in our country day by day. In this context, we try to improve the quality of the services here. The newly built closed chairlift system is one of these services. We had four chair lifts. It became the fifth chairlift with the new chairlift system. In the old chairlift, we were carrying 200 people per hour, and in the new building, 3 thousand people would be carried. Thus, we will have the chance to serve our local and foreign guests who come here for winter tourism at a higher level. Another good development is that we had 8 tracks, we increased it to 9 and we light up our track 5. These are important steps we have taken for winter tourism. ”
Following the submission of the certificate, Governor Öksüz and 65. Kars Deputy Ahmet Arslan, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, visited the facilities and received information from the authorities.
As a result of the 4-day researches carried out by an independent audit firm from Austria, 700 controls were carried out. Following the controls, an International Certificate of Conformity was given to Sarıkamış Ski Center. While the 850-meter-long indoor chairlift system offers the comfort to reach the summit in 14 minutes with the previous system in 5 minutes, it will offer skiing pleasure to skiers at night in the new season with the lighting works of the tracks.
