Başkent Ankara Hosted Off-Season'19 Robot Tournament; In the Robot Tournament organized by Private Tevfik Fikret Schools with the support of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and many institutions and organizations; Approximately 21 students from 400 schools from Istanbul, Samsun, Muğla, Çorum and Eskişehir provinces competed.

FIRST IN BAŞKENT

The tournament, which was held for the first time in Ankara, ended with the final matches held after the qualifying struggles.

With the theme “Deep Space“, robots, controlled by students on a planet dominated by unpredictable terrain and weather conditions, attempted to collect as many objects as possible within the 2,5 minutes.

In the tournament; It was aimed to increase students' interest in science and technology by using “STEM i technique, which is a strategy consisting mainly of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education consisting of the initials of the words Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

THANKS TO THE PRESIDENT SLOW

Pointing out that the tournament is one of the most important robot competitions in the world, Tournament Director Can Üstünalp said, “We are proud to represent Ankara as Tevfik Fikret High School in the tournament. This robot competition, which we have been in since 2010, is a very important organization worldwide. This is the first time in Ankara this year. Thank you, Metropolitan Mayor Mr. Mansur Yavaş supported us. Thanks to this support, today we can organize this organization in Atatürk Sports and Exhibition Center. ”

The Metropolitan Municipality Sports and Organization Branch Manager Mustafa Artunç stated that they are proud to be in such organizations as Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, “We try to support the organizations hosted by our Ankara as much as possible in line with the instructions of our President Mr. Mansur Yavas. Our youth both compete and use their spare time in a useful way. Our contribution to this makes us extremely happy and proud ”.

SPORTS FOR INTELLIGENCE

Sercan Çığgın, Deputy Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and Halil İbrahim Yılmaz, Chairman of Ankara City Council presented their awards to the students after the final matches they watched with interest.

During the tournament, the team that made the best contact with other teams was awarded the Kendrick Castello award, the Safety Award for the team that most complied with the safety rules during the tournament, and the Quality Award for the team that made the most powerful robot, totaling 22.
