Thousands of 6 thousand 882 personnel and thousand 373 vehicles will serve to prevent disruption of life in Istanbul. 60 critical point of the city will be monitored continuously with the BEUS system, pre-icing measures will be taken to prevent accidents.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) held its winter preparation meeting yesterday within the scope of combating adverse weather conditions. At the meeting held at the IMM Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) with the participation of institutions and organizations serving the city, hosted by IMM, efforts to combat snow-ice and ponding that may occur in winter were discussed. The meeting chaired by IMM Deputy Secretary General Mehmet Murat Kalkanlı and Murat Yazıcı; Fire Department, Road Maintenance and Infrastructure Coordination, Support Services, Rail Systems, Police, Headquarters and Food, Health Departments, AKOM, Beyaz Masa and other relevant directorates, IETT, İSKİ, İGDAŞ, İSTAÇ, İSFALT companies and the Provincial Police Department, General Directorate of Highways Directorate, İGA Airport Management, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and ring road operator ICA company representative attended. At the meeting, all institutions serving Istanbul agreed on the importance of cooperation in order to avoid disruption in city life by working in coordination.

400 RESPONSE POINT IS DETERMINED

At the meeting, efforts were made to ensure that the residents of Istanbul were not affected by the adverse conditions of the winter months and to continue the normal flow of city life. In the city, the 4 thousand 23 kilometers of road network in the area of ​​responsibility to determine the 400 intervention point IMM, snow shoveling and salting teams to keep the roads ready to remain open. Coordinated with the General Directorate of Highways teams connected to the Ministry of Transport, if needed, all kinds of support will be given.

Overpasses, bus stops, squares in public areas such as bags and boxes of salt puddles and icing will be kept by teams to intervene.

Mobile buffets in heavy snowfall, emergency services of hospitals, piers and roads waiting for the drivers of hot drinks, soup and water will be served.

THE HELP OF THE HOMEWORK WILL BE RISKED

Shelter centers were also planned for people who did not have a specific residence due to their psychological, economic or social situation, who lived on the street or in abandoned spaces.
