Ordu Metropolitan Municipality has started works to ensure the continuation of trade in Ünye Port without interruption and to create berths and breakwaters that can allow ships to berth.

Ünye Port Additional Dock and Deepening Planning was planned and sent to the Regional Directorate of Transportation for examination. Within the scope of the project, the existing quay will be strengthened and additional quays of 130 meters will be created. An additional breakwater application will be launched in order to increase the trade volume of the army and to compete with other ports on equal terms.

Ordu province will be brought into competition with other ports in the maritime trade, says the Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality. Mehmet Hilmi Güler said, “Ünye Container Port is located in a very important and strategic area. This port is the exit point of the Mediterranean-Black Sea Road. We re-evaluate the capacities of our ports. We will strengthen the Ünye Port so that the incoming ships can dock easily and continue our maritime trade without interruption. In our current region, the bottom of the port scan is done. After the bottom scan we will increase the depth of the port. By creating new breakwaters, we will ensure that our province can compete with other ports in sea trade on equal terms. ”
