Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Rail System Department Head Assoc. Dr. Pelin Alpkökin met with Mayor Büyükerşen at Eskişehir Light Rail System and got information about transportation in the city.
Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor in July Ekrem İmamoğlu appointed as the Head of the Rail System Department by Assoc. Dr. Pelin Alpkökin came to Eskişehir to examine the light rail system and other urban planning works, which are mostly preferred by citizens in urban transportation. Alpkökin, who met with the President Büyükerşen and ESTRAM officials at Eskişehir Light Rail System Enterprise, was informed about urban transportation. Alpkökin stated that he came to Eskişehir for a 2-day technical trip and was amazed by every place he saw, “A magnificent city was designed with the vision of Mr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen. I was very impressed with what I saw here. I would like to thank Mr. Hodja and his entire team for their hospitality.”
Expressing that they are very happy to host Alpkökin in Eskişehir, Büyükerşen said, “It is not a coincidence that Mrs. İmamoğlu gave such an important task to Ms. Pelin. He is a well-equipped academician who completed his education in Japan, an important country in rail systems. I believe that in Istanbul Ekrem İmamoğlu's ideas, experiences and studies will support the projects it wants to implement. We will always be in contact with them. I wish him success in the future," he said.
After receiving information from ESTRAM officials, Alpkökin also visited the Directorate of Road Construction Maintenance and Repair.
