"Central Asian Railway Summit" of the Republic of Turkey State Railways in the first 21-24 October 2019 date (TCDD), hosted Iranian Railways Organization, Kazakhstan Railways, Uzbekistan Railways and was held in Ankara with the participation of Turkmenistan Railways representative.

General Director of TCDD, Ali İhsan Uygun, Chairman of National Railways of Kazakhstan Sauat Mynbaev, Deputy Minister of Road and Urbanization of the Islamic Republic of Iran Saeid Rasouli, Vice President of Turkmenistan Railways Agency Recepmammet Recepmammedov, Chairman of Uzbekistan Railways Husnitdin Hasilov and General Manager of TCDD Transportation Inc. Kamuran Yazici The summit was held at The Ankara Hotel on 24.10.2019.

The parties signed the Goodwill Protocol of the Central Asian Railways Summit.

We aim to increase trade volume

Speaking at the summit, TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun said that the trade between Europe and Asia is increasing day by day and this situation makes the railways more attractive. Recalling that they aim to increase the trade volume between the countries of the region, Uygun said;

Çin In recent years, China has been implementing important projects to improve its transport network. With these projects, the freight trains departing from China and the activation of the existing Iron Silk Road will reach our country via Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran. Thus, we will connect China and Europe with the Iron Silk Road. As TCDD, we always wish to contribute to our cooperation with the existing line between Asia and Europe which is a great opportunity for our countries and to keep our relations at the highest level. ”

Date targeted Silk Road revitalization of the summit, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran will provide a major contribution to the economy. With the implementation of the decisions taken at the summit, it is aimed to generate a significant income in the export items of the countries in the region. With the implementation of the signed Goodwill Protocol of the Central Asian Railways Summit, railway transport will proceed faster.

The summit ended with the closing dinner hosted by the General Manager of TCDD in honor of senior executives and delegations of the participating countries.
