Karabük Iron and Steel Works Inc. (KARDEMİR) successfully produced 4140 (42CrMo4) quality steel coil which is mainly used in automotive and defense industries.
KARDEMİR has created a separate working group in order to develop steel qualities for the automotive and defense industries and accelerated its research and development activities with the R & D Department, adding a new steel quality to its product portfolio. Our company, which produces 4140 (42CrMo4) quality steels used in automotive and defense industry and machine manufacturing sectors in the production of various wear-resistant parts, also realized the first commercial sale of this new product.
Having a very flexible production infrastructure, it is stated that they have the ability to produce different steel qualities with high added value in Çubuk Kangal Rolling Mill. Hüseyin Soykan said that the priority targets in 4140 (42CrMo4) quality steel produced in coil form and offered to the commercial market is to prevent imports.
Stating that 4140 (42CrMo4) quality coiled steel production is a part of the Board of Directors' value-added product production, product diversification, direct export and growth-oriented strategy, Soykan said that its main objectives are to contribute to the localization activities in the defense and automotive sectors.
