Istanbul hosted the European Cup matches organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Serbia representative Crvena Zvezda Belgrade outperformed its rivals in the organization supported by IMM and reached the next round.
The tournament, in which four teams participated, started on 20 September at İBB Silivrikapı Ice Rink. ııhf'n since the 1997 Continental Cup name, performs the European Ice Hockey Zeytinburnu Municipality from Turkey in Group A of the tournament Sports Club, Iceland, Skautafelag Akureyri, Bulgaria from SC Irbis-Skate Sofia and the Serbian Crvena struggled Belgrade team Zvezda.
IMM and Turkey Ice Hockey Federation competitions conducted in cooperation with 20-22 September 80 athletes participated. The tournament, which was played according to points, started with a match between Skautafelag Akureyrar and Crvena Zvezda Belgrade. The last match of the organization, where each team participated in three matches was held between Zeytinburnu Municipality Sports Club and Skautafelag Akureyrar
Serbian representative Crvena Zvezda Belgrade finished the tournament with 9 points ahead. With this result, he was entitled to take part in the top group matches to be held with representatives of Latvia, Ukraine and Romania in Brovary, Ukraine between 18-20 October.
Istanbul residents who had the opportunity to watch six games during the matches hosted by the IMM Directorate of Youth and Sports had the opportunity to get to know ice hockey more closely.
