When the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge built between Gallipoli's Sütlüce and Lapseki's Şekerkaya districts is completed in the Dardanelles, it will become the world's longest span suspension bridge with its main span of 2023 meters. 1915 Çanakkale Bridge will be the “highest suspension bridge in the world” with its 333 meter towers.

In the last August, 1915 tower blocks, each weighing 800 tons, were placed on the tower caisns that were sunk in the sea on the sides of the 4 Çanakkale Bridge on two continents. After the first blocks placed on caissons, bridge legs began to be seen. Last night, one of the second blocks was placed on the bridge leg on the Gallipoli side. Today, the first of the second blocks was placed on the bridge pillar in Lapseki. In this way, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge legs rose one step higher. Ships passing through the Dardanelles during the study were warned to navigate under 10 knots rather than 8 knots. A bridge crane was mounted between the bridge legs on both sides with the help of a large crane the previous day.

The bridge legs will continue to rise with new blocks to be placed on the tower caisns immersed in the sea. After placing all the blocks, 318-meter bridge towers, which will take the colors of the Turkish flag, will be completed. The upper part of the 18 meter high towers, representing March 318, which is the anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory, will also represent the gun bullet that Seyit Onbaşı dropped into the barrel during the Battle of Çanakkale.
