Ankara Bar Association, 1928 in the date of the Ankara Railway Station Campus TCDD guest house issued a statement about the transfer of Medipol University.

The statement made by the Ankara Bar Association is as follows:

No power, no election; it does not have the right to detach the spatial heritage, social memory and history of a city from the public and to be specific to individuals, institutions or foundations, for whatever purpose. Ankara Station, the historical space of the memories shared by our social memory for generations, will be ours as well as our upper lineage, and we will have our children as well as ours.

The practice aimed at changing the allocation of cultural assets within the TCCD Station Campus is the continuation of Ankara's policies of cultural and spatial impoverishment in recent years. These practices should be discontinued immediately.

Recently, the TCDD guest house, which was on the agenda of the Ankara Railway Station in 1928, was allocated to Ankara Medipol University, which was founded by Fahrettin Koca, the Minister of Health. Then Medipol University made a statement about the issue and confirmed the incident. In a statement, it was stated that the annex and the guesthouse were rented for 29 yearly 2 years ago.

The practice of transferring cultural assets to the TOKİ, National Real Estate Directorate and through them to the use of third parties by means of a protocol within the station campus is the privatization of cultural assets. Although the change in the allocation of these assets is the discretion and disposition of the administration, it does not allow the use of cultural assets as educational or similar purposes. Areas of Turkey's relationship with the local railway is uncut form and continues to be part of our memories. There was no structural transformation that would require changing the decision to use the space. Therefore, the station area should be protected in accordance with its function in its entirety.

The structures within the Station, especially TCDD Station Square, should not be detached from the spatial memory values they undertake in the history of the Republic. Evaluating these cultural assets as a building stock and using them in different parcels by changing their usage patterns indicate that the cultural treasury at hand is rapidly being melted and destroyed. Beyond being a worry, this situation is contrary to the rule of law and the Constitution. The 63 of the Constitution entitled Top Protection of History, Culture and Natural Heritage. According to the article; protects the historical, cultural and natural assets and values and takes supportive and encouraging measures for this purpose. Therefore, it is the duty of the citizens and the state to take all kinds of measures to protect the cultural assets in the field.

Our Bar Association will fulfill its responsibility for the fulfillment of this assignment and by applying the necessary legal means, it will be ensured that Gar is permanently living as a public and common memory space. Respectfully announced to the public.
