The IMM announced yesterday that they would make a request to reduce the tolls of the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Eurasia Tunnel.
The Ministry of Transport rejected the request for discounts on some of the bridges and tunnels proposed by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) in order to solve the traffic jams in the city.
Traffic was experienced in Istanbul due to the work initiated on the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge on June 27. IMM had set up additional metrobus services for the purpose of providing a solution to the traffic and announced that the ferry services would be increased. In addition, IMM announced that they would apply to the Ministry of Transport to reduce the tolls in the Eurasia Tunnel with Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge.
HabertürkAccording to the report by Olcay Aydilek from the Ministry of Transportation, the message "There is no discount on our agenda" was given against the request of IMM.
In a statement made from sources close to the Ministry, it will be stated that the work will continue despite the negative situation, “The maintenance work will continue until August 17 at the latest. Of course, there is a possibility of completion at an earlier date ”.
