Old Overpasses Are Being Dismantled In Ankara

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its works in order to make the capital more livable and more aesthetic.

The overpasses in the metropolitan districts, which technically complete their economic life, are removed from stage to stage.

The Metropolitan Municipality Department of Science Affairs Department of Evacuation and Demolition began to remove corroded overpasses that are corroded, which are not useful for pedestrians due to the steep slopes, and worn overpasses within the program. First, the dismantling of the overpass in the direction of Sıhhiye with the intersection of Mithatpaşa Street and Süleyman Sırrı Street was performed.

WORKING AT NIGHT HOURS

Metropolitan Municipality teams, starting from night hours of heavy traffic until the morning to carry out work, overpass dismantling operations were done with great care.

Due to occupational safety, an intensive overtime was spent for dismantling on the street which was closed to traffic between 22.00-06.00 hours.

NEXT GATEWAY IN NECATİBEY STREET

The Metropolitan Municipality, which has started to remove the overpasses one by one after completing its economic life, will remove the overpass on Necatibey Street in the coming days.

After the dismantling process, traffic lights will be added to the overpasses and signaled and pedestrian crossings will be provided.

For a more aesthetic capital, the Metropolitan Municipality will continue to remove the overpasses that cause image pollution on the street, which are idle and threaten the safety of life and property.
