The public transport bus, named BYD K12A, was also introduced as the world's first all-wheel drive (4WD) electric bus. The system can easily switch between 2WD - 4WD, thus it is highly suitable for different road conditions and can reduce energy consumption.

According to the statement of BYD, the length of the electric K12A is exactly 27 meters. It was announced that the bus, which consists of three parts connected by two separate bellows, has a carrying capacity of 250 passengers. It is stated that the K12A, whose battery capacity and engine power have not yet been announced, will have a driving range of 300 km on a single charge and can reach a maximum speed of 70 km / h.

BYD, which introduced the K12A in Shenzhen, China, stated that the bus was developed for the TransMilenio BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) System in Colombia. In other words, BYD K12A will be used as Metrobus in Colombia.
