East Japan Railway Company (JR East) will offer its passengers the option to pay with various stablecoin and cryptocurrencies in ticket sales in Japan.
According to the news in the Japanese news program ANN News, JR East has partnered with cloud and internet service provider IIJ to purchase ten tickets for cryptocurrencies. With the collaboration, JR East aims to offer ticket purchasing services to its customers with Suica smart cards that will be formed by the DeCurrent Virtual crypto exchange, while JR East official Shinobu Noguchi stated that the company aims to meet the needs of customers who want to pay with cryptocurrencies.
