Today in History
27 March 1873 A borrowing contract was prepared between the Ottoman Empire and the Ottoman Bank and the Credit General Ottoman. According to the contract, the Ottoman State would borrow 3.000 million Ottoman liras for use in the 50 km railway construction. This borrowing as a “railway stability” could not be used due to the depression that occurred in the Vienna Stock Exchange.
