The Istanbul suburban train line, which made its last trip in 2013, reopens this time in an integrated manner with Marmaray. The construction period of the line, which made its last voyage in 2013, was much longer than expected and its opening was delayed. The line is expected to carry 1.2 million passengers per day. The first tender for the line was held in 2006 and was scheduled to be completed in June 2015.
The Pendik-Gebze section of the suburban train line between Haydarpaşa Gebze, which has been in service since May 29, 1969, was opened on 29 April 2012 at Kazlıçeşme-Halkalı Section 1 March 2013, Haydarpaşa-Pendik section between the 19 June 2013'te closed after the last expeditions.
Due to the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed Train Project and the renovation works planned to be integrated with Marmaray, the rails were dismantled and many stations with historical monuments were renewed. Marmaray Extension
