The metro investment, which every director, president, minister and even all the prime ministers who come to Konya has repeatedly promised, seems to have been postponed this year. The Ministry allocated a budget of 7.5 Billion TL for railway projects this year. Konya Metro is not included in this budget.
Mehmet Cahit Turan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who made a statement about the metro during his visit to Konya in the past days, stated that they would carry out the project jointly with the Ministry and the Metropolitan Municipality. In fact, Minister Turhan said that the metro planned to be built in Konya is at the tender stage. However, the metro planned to be built in Konya in the 2019 Presidential Investment Program is not included in the investment program list. Istanbul and Ankara lead the list.
