The event was held at the Erciyes University Tourism Faculty Conference Hall. Rector Dr. Kurtuluş Karamustafa, Vice Rector Dr. Derviş Boztosun, Secretary General Assoc. Dr. Semra Aksoylu, Director of Vocational School Dr. Ercan Karaköse, Deputy Director of İŞKUR Ebubekir Güngör, as well as many academicians and students participated.

The opening speech was made by the Rector. Dr. Kurtuluş Karamustafa explained the functions of universities.

Kayseri University Rector Karamustafa said, “As universities we have two important functions. One of them is to produce knowledge in academic life. Universities are the information production center in this sense. It shares the information it produces with the students and the community. How do we share information with our students? We share the lessons we teach in the classrooms and the labs. We also share this information with business and society. How do we share? We organize congresses, conferences and symposiums. While we are doing these academic studies, on the other hand, our aim is to train students to the business world. To train qualified work force to the business world. That's why we have to carry out these activities by understanding the needs of the business world and following the development projections. According to him, we need to design curricula, intertwine with the business world, analyze the business world's expectations from our graduates, and better understand them. In this sense, university administrations, college, faculty administrations have serious duties. Graduates of higher education institutions, who cannot meet the needs of the business world, cannot raise the employees according to this, can not follow the qualities of the future in the business world, unfortunately are either unemployed or cannot find a job. If we make our graduates will be considered as a source of labor, the sector with labor supply and determine human resource needs good, sustainable competition in terms of many sectors in Turkey in the world, we need to work well to achieve, "he said.
