Alfredo Muñoz, MAPFRE Sigorta General Manager and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, said that they play an important role in the realization of projects by providing high guarantees to large construction projects. Muñoz noted that they contribute to the development of the economy by providing insurance support to large projects in Turkey, and that they also support the business of Turkish companies abroad. Talking about the projects they support by providing insurance coverage, Muñoz said, “One of the projects we insure is the Vauk Tunnel, which is located on the Bayburt-Gümüşhane border and is planned to be completed in 2019. We also provided guarantees for major projects such as the Istanbul Başakşehir – Kayaşehir Metro, the Gallipoli-Eceabat Highway and the Al-Khor Highway, which is under construction in Qatar.”
Alfredo Muñoz, listing the other domestic and international projects that were secured, said, “Cyprus Water Supply, Astana Train Station, Ankara Train Station, Mahmutbey-Mecidiyeköy Metro, Marmaray undersea passage and connection roads, Piyalepaşa Mansions, BOTAŞ cycle power plant and gas distribution projects, Maltepe and Ataköy coastal filling and arrangement works, various new port projects, Baku Haydar Aliyev Airport, Astana Stadium and Bursa Timsah Arena Stadium.
