İzmir Metropolitan Municipality continues the construction works of the Narlıdere line, which will take the 179 km rail system network even further. Within the scope of the construction works of the District Governorate Station on the line, some changes will be made in the traffic order in this region as of March 1.
Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere District Governorate line, which was tendered for 1 billion 27 million TL by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, made an important step after its foundation was laid in June. 7,2 km line will be passed through “deep tunnel” using TBM (tunneling machine). The line consisting of 7 stations will be Balçova, Çağdaş, Dokuz Eylül University Hospital, Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Narlıdere, Martyrdom and finally District Governorship.
As part of the construction work of the District Governorate Station, a number of traffic arrangements will be made in this region, in accordance with the UKOME Decision. Accordingly, starting Friday, March 1, the roundabout at the intersection of Açelya Sokak and Teachers Street will be closed to vehicle traffic. Builders, İlhan Selçuk and Küçükoğlu Sokak will be used to continue the traffic along Mithatpaşa Street along Açelya Sokak. Access to Mithatpaşa Street via Açelya Sokak will be provided by a "left-turn signalized intersection" on Teachers Street. Within the scope of the new regulation, all necessary routing and security measures for pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be provided by the Metropolitan Municipality.
