The construction of the metro lines, which have come to the rescue of vehicle traffic in Istanbul, is continuing rapidly.
The length of the rail system in Istanbul will reach 2019 kilometers, with the implementation of the projects, some of which will be put into service at the end of 2022 and some in 455,7. Rail system projects under construction of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure are as follows:
Halkalı - Gebze Marmaray Surface Metro Line
Halkalı - Gebze Marmaray Superficial Metro Line, 63 km long Gebze - Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci - Halkalı It is formed by combining the Suburban Lines with the 13,60 km long Marmaray. Metro line, Küçükçekmece, Bakırköy, Zeytinburnu, Fatih, KadıköyIt connects the districts of Maltepe, Kartal, Pendik, Tuzla and Üsküdar.
Dudullu - Bostancı Metro Line
Dudullu - Bostancı Metro Line, 14,30 km long, KadıköyConnects the districts of Maltepe, Ataşehir and Ümraniye. It will serve with state-of-the-art driverless trains on the metro line. Since the metro cars will not have a driver's cabin, passengers can travel by watching the tunnels in the front. Inside and outside of the wagons will be surveillance with cameras from the management center. The metro will serve without drivers and even the platform door system will be used for the security of citizens.
Kabataş - Beşiktaş - Mecidiyeköy - Mahmutbey Metro Line
24,50 km long Kabataş - Beşiktaş - Mecidiyeköy - Mahmutbey Metro Line connects the districts of Beyoğlu, Beşiktaş, Şişli, Kağıthane, Eyüpsultan, Gaziosmanpaşa, Esenler and Bağcılar.
Eminönü - Eyüpsultan - Alibeyköy (Haliç) Tram Line
The 10,10 km long Eminönü - Eyüpsultan - Alibeyköy (Haliç) Tram Line connects the districts of Fatih and Eyüpsultan. Tram cars will be energized safely from the system embedded between the two rails along the line. Thus, image pollution will be prevented along the route. Inside and outside of the wagons will be surveillance with cameras from the management center. Active communication will be provided between the passengers and the mechanic.
