Employers' raise offer increased on 17 day of izban strike

After the strike initiated by İZBAN workers who could not get the hike they wanted in the collective bargaining agreement (TİS) negotiations in İzmir, a new raise offer came from İZBAN management.

As the strike that started in İZBAN entered its 17th day, a new offer came from the employer. The İZBAN management, which met with the Izmir branch management of the Railways-İş Union, where the workers are organized, presented its last offer yesterday evening. The 22 percent hike offer previously given for wages was increased to 26 percent. It was learned that the negotiations, which started at 21.30 yesterday evening, continued until the morning.

The Railroad-İş Union is expected to give a response during the day, evaluating the rate of raise with striking workers.

WORKER REPRESENTATIVE: IZBAN PROVIDED THIS PROPOSAL FOR THE LAST OF THE MINIMUM FEE

Railroad-İş Union İZBAN workplace representative Ahmet Güler said in his statement to soL about the employer's new proposal: “The subject of our negotiations is not just the wage increase. In other words, the issue we talk about and disagree with is not just the root wage issue. There are shift compensation, driving compensation issues, there are overtime issues. What does İZBAN management say about these? İZBAN management made this proposal in order not to stay below the minimum wage announced yesterday. In other words, he would already give 26 percent in order not to fall below the minimum wage announced yesterday. It necessarily increased the offer to 26 percent. In other words, İZBAN cannot employ workers below the minimum wage. He has to pull it over. So this offer has nothing to be accepted. " (News left)
