Members of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council of CHP gave a question about whether there is work on the metro lines under construction. The question proposal submitted to the IMM Presidency was transferred to the IMM Presidency to be answered.

According to the report of Mehmet Demirkaya, a group of CHP council members gave a proposal to the IMM Presidency regarding the Bakırköy-Bağcılar Kirazlı and Ataköy-İkitelli metro lines. The proposal, which was submitted with the request of the IMM Mayor's reply in writing, was referred to the IMM Presidency by the IMM Assembly.

The proposal, signed by CHP's Seyit Ali Aydoğmuş, Mehmet Berke Merter and Hasan Tapan, was read by Aydoğmuş at the IMM Assembly. The proposal included allegations that the Bakırköy-Bağcılar Kirazlı and Ataköy-İkitelli metro lines have not been working for a while, and that the works have been slowed down because the contractor has not been paid.

CHP members who claimed that many roads were closed to traffic due to the subway works and the delay caused the shortage of citizens, also asked the following questions to be answered:

“Are there any metro projects that have stopped or slowed down? What are the reasons for the delay of metro projects? Is an allowance allocated in the 2019 budget draft for our rail system projects that have stopped for economic reasons? Are the personal rights of the employees paid due to the economic difficulties of the contractor firm and the metro constructions stopped by the IMM? ”

Photos taken from the construction sites belonging to some metro constructions were also added to the question proposal submitted to the IMM Presidency.
