Minister Turhan: "We will have started a new era in aviation with our new Istanbul airport"

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure M. Cahit Turhan stated that they have made great progress in the production of domestic and national aircraft, saying, “It is no longer a dream for our domestic and national production aircraft to land and take off at our new airport with a capacity of 200 million passengers, hopefully we will also see those days. Even though our dreams are someone's nightmare, we will not go out of our way. ” said.

Speaking at the opening of the 12th International Civil Aviation and Airports Fair and Aviation Industry Supply Chain Platform (ISTANBUL AIRSHOW 2018), Turhan said the event is an important fair that brings together the world aviation industry and the aviation industry.

Expressing that every era in the past was named with a name and defined as the communication age of this era, Turhan said, “If only one name would be given to all ages left by human beings from the first human to today, my preference would be 'transportation'." he spoke.

Turhan mentioned the importance given to the transportation of states and nations from past to present and made the following evaluations:

“If our country wasn't a 'bridge country', the cradle of civilizations, would it have been so much attacked from past to present? If we bring the issue to a more specific and up-to-date basis, would we be so exposed to treacherous game inflation for our nation and our country if we did not try to make one of the biggest airports in the world? ”

“We achieved historic successes in aviation”

Turhan, from road to rail bridge country of Turkey, from ports to airports said they were crowned nearly 16 years in the transportation hub, he said they signed the historic success in the aviation sector.

In the last 16 year, the number of passengers served at airports increased from 35 to 195 million, and they started to fly to 316 at international routes. Turhan recalled that they were flying to 60.

Turhan explained that the number of aircraft in the airlines increased from 162 to 510, and they increased the number of active airports from 26 to 55, and said that the number of countries with which they made civil aviation agreements rose to 170.

Turhan said, “We will have started a new era in aviation with our new airport to be opened by our President on 29 October.” he spoke.

“We will not get out of our way”

Turhan, Turkey's aviation infrastructure and international capabilities of that increased with each passing day, said that they exerted great efforts to make the technology they use is however also national.

“Our aim in the aviation and space industry is to be the country that imports technology; to be the country that produces, develops and exports technology. ” Turhan said, completing his words as follows:
