Does Savings in Investments Affect the Bursa High Speed Train Project?

Last week… According to the program of the Ministry of Transport, it was announced that the Bursa-Bilecik high-speed train line will be completed in 2021. This statement meant that the target voyages were revised in 2019.

So what…

When we announced on June 3 that the tender held on April 9 was approved with a change of contractor, everything was in its normal course. We explained the planned process as follows:

Bayburt İnşaat undertook the entire Bursa-Osmaneli line for 2.5 billion liras + VAT and the protocol was signed… The site will be delivered to the contractor company and the work will start very quickly…

In the Bursa High Speed Train Project, the foundations of which were laid in Balat in December 2012, the accelerated process was starting.

Then ...

He was faced with unprecedented currency war Turkey. Cost calculations were surprised by the abnormal exchange rate increase. While waiting for the acceleration, the site delivery could not be made to the contractor firm and the construction could not start due to the resulting economic situation.

During the Bursa-Yenişehir stage, tunnel, viaduct and road works continued, but it can be said that the construction has lost its tempo and even stopped recently.

In such an environment, what President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the AK Party Provincial Presidents meeting on Friday is remarkable.

Saying, "We do not consider investment from scratch if it is not essential," President Erdogan said that the completed ones will be completed to a great extent, and the following question came to mind: "Is our high speed train affected by these investment savings?"

It's Öyle

I wonder if the Bursa High Speed Train Project, whose infrastructure works between Bursa and Yenişehir have reached a certain stage, the superstructure and electromechanical works between Bursa and Yenişehir have not started, and the new tenders of the Bursa High Speed Train Project, which has been fully tendered between Yenişehir and Bilecik, are within the scope of the investments that have been completed to a large extent?

Will the high-speed train, which we call “We are willing to 2023”, be caught up in economic problems within the scope of savings in public investments that have become mandatory?

Our hope is to continue as planned, but the facts are not like they can be ignored.

Changing project in Balat gave farmer hope

According to the first project, the passenger station would be built on the viaduct and the freight train station near the stream in Balat. When Bursa and Nilüfer OSB lines were activated, the freight train station was moved to Doğanköy, and the high-speed train station was moved to its place.

This situation…

In Balat, the freight train station gave hope to the farmers whose lands were expropriated for the storage area. “The expropriation fee did not meet the land value. They say, "When the freight train station changed, our lands did not need to be expropriated."

They are also waiting with hope for the return of their lands.
