Izmir Metropolitan Municipality ESHOT General Directorate, which charged 20 “full electric” buses it added to its fleet last year, saved 13 thousand TL in 722 months. Producing 1,5 million kWh energy in the same period, ESHOT wins successive awards with this project. The project was also awarded by the Association of Healthy Cities after the International Association of Public Transporters (UITP).
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality ESHOT General Directorate, which took a very important step in environmental transportation with 20 fully electric buses it added to its fleet, has also achieved great savings by producing its own electricity. Meeting all the electricity required for new buses with the solar power plant installed on the roofs of the workshops in Gediz, ESHOT has saved approximately 2017 thousand liras in exchange for 1,5 million kWh energy since August 722. With the electricity produced in the 1,38 MW power plant, a total of 13 tons of carbon dioxide emissions were prevented in 2.559 months. This value is equal to the amount of CO64 that 175 thousand 2 trees can filter in one day.
New solar power stations on the road
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality General Directorate of ESHOT has completed the feasibility studies of solar power plants with a total capacity of 2 MW to be installed by Adatepe and Çiğli garages. The General Directorate of ESHOT, which has taken action to complete the project approvals and tender preparations by the end of the year, will obtain the majority of the electrical energy consumed by the enterprise with these investments from the sun.
