Uzbekistan launches railway electrification from Kyrgyzstan to China

The Uzbekistan Railways state company announced that it has started the electrification of railways stretching from Kyrgyzstan to China. The same company reported that the electrification of the part of Pap-Namangan-Andijan, which connects eastern Uzbekistan with Kyrgyzstan and China, is planned.

Özbekiston Temir Yullari company announced the first procurement tenders for the construction of traction transformers, signaling and SCADA communication systems for the project. Project loan proposals to be financed by the Asian Development Bank will be accepted until September 21. In July, a project was announced for the modernization of the Chukursai power plant, which will supply this railway line with electricity. The cost of this project will be about $ 20 million.
