Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan stated that the public transportation systems to the New Airport will be opened by the end of 2020.
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan, who made an examination on the European side of the Northern Marmara motorway construction, gave information about transportation by public transport to the new airport.
Pointing out that when the Airport project, which will add value to Istanbul, is put into service, the problems and troubles experienced in air transportation will be eliminated significantly, Turhan said that important services will also be provided in domestic and international travels. Turhan continues the construction works of our two important projects in terms of public transportation systems for the new airport in Istanbul. These systems are a metro system, which is approximately 37 kilometers long from Hasdal, Gayrettepe to the third airport, and includes eight stations. Halkalı22, which will provide the connection to the third airport and the public transportation system, which includes six stations, will be put into service by the end of 2020. '
The distance to Taksim will be linked to the North Marmara Motorway and the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge in the new airport road transport with a distance of 15 minutes. Rail system as a high-speed train at the airport will terminate the transfer station.
Terminal will be connected to Taksim via rail system. This rail system will be passed through the route of the old railway line. Thus, public transport will be provided from all regions of Istanbul.
