Celebrated as “World Bicycle Day”, June 3 passed with enthusiasm with the events organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Pedaling for a sustainable city, Izmir residents started their enjoyable cycling tour between Bostanlı Iskele and İnciraltı City Forest with dance performances of samba and percussion group Bloco Entrudo. Izmir Big Band had a concert in the final of the colorful event that brought bicycle lovers of all ages from 7 to 70.
In the program of Metropolitan Municipality, inflatable climbing wall, playground, clown, face painting and mini disco dance activities and free popcorn and cotton candy were distributed for the children.
“World Bicycle Day”, determined by the decision taken by the United Nations on April 12, 2018, aims to encourage individuals to physical mobility and to raise awareness about bicycle transportation.
