Explaining that the progress at the new airport has exceeded 90 percent, Minister Arslan said, “On 29 October 2018, we will officially open with the participation of our President. In the next 2 days, all airline companies operating from Atatürk Airport will be shifted step by step. We are working feverishly on the roads in addition to the airport so that our guests who come to and leave Istanbul can access the new airport in a short time, so that they do not have any trouble. In addition to carrying out intense political activities in the field, we also carefully follow the work we need to do as a ministry. As a matter of fact, our work today is an indicator of this. ”

Minister Arslan also gave numerical information about the progress of the Northern Marmara Motorway. Noting that they aim to facilitate transportation to the city center with the TEM and E-5 connected Northern Marmara Motorway, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan said, “The construction site of our new airport is the east axis of our D-20 project, where the new airport-Hasdal connection is made. As part of this project, we put the 3 km hull into service as of the end of last year, as 3 trips and 14 arrivals, and we also provided the connection to the existing road to Çatalca. However, at the point where we are now, we continue to work on both the 14 km main body, the 5.5 km 2-way and 2-way side roads, and our 16 km junction links as well as our 6 bridge junctions. Within the scope of these works, 30 million cubic meters of excavation will be made. A total of 6 viaducts of 418 thousand 13 meters will be completed. We will have completed 481 large art buildings of approximately 12 meters. As we have many dry vents, 1 million 370 tons of cold and hot asphalt mix will be used. The total cost of all the projects I have just listed is 1 and a half billion TL. Our aim is to facilitate the connections of our new airport to the city center. The entire project will be completed in August this year. Our current progress is around 80 percent. At the same time, we continue our 5 departures and 3 arrivals activities in order to connect our airport to Büyükçekmece, TEM and E-3 in the direction of Çatalca, including the Çatalca ring road. Our progress there is around 70 percent. Our third project is known to all of you, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, along with the first stage of the North Marmara Motorway, reaches to Odayeri. We will have completed the first phase of the 6 km North Marmara Motorway from Odayeri to the airport. When the airport is opened by finishing 4 more, 4-way 4-way motorway, 4-way 6-way side road, the North Marmara Motorway, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Mahmutbey, TEM and E-5 via Odayeri We will have created the link.
