UTIKAD's Low Carbon Hero Award for Sustainable Logistics Certificate

UTİKAD, the International Transport and Logistics Service Providers Association, has also been awarded as part of the V. Istanbul Carbon Summit, which it also supports. The "Sustainable Logistics Certificate" presented by UTİKAD for the logistics industry in cooperation with Bureau Veritas received the "Low Carbon Hero Award".

The 'Sustainable Logistics Certificate' prepared by UTİKAD, in cooperation with the International Transport and Logistics Service Providers Association, for the logistics sector with the collaboration of Bureau Veritas, was held on 26 April 2018. The main focus of this year's Istanbul Carbon Summit, which UTIKAD is among its supporters and organized by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D), was climate finance. At the summit, which brought together top government officials, academics and companies from the private sector, which were branded in the field of sustainability, the industry's struggle against climate change was discussed, focusing on energy efficiency.

The 'Low Carbon Heroes Award Ceremony' took place in the last part of the summit, which was held at the Istanbul Technical University Suleyman Demirel Cultural Center on April 26, 2018.

General Manager Cavit Uğur received the award on behalf of UTIKAD, who applied to the Low Carbon Heroes Award with the 'Sustainable Logistics Certificate' prepared in collaboration with the independent certification and auditing firm Bureau Veritas.

Indicating that they aim to contribute to the sustainability of environmental, social and financial assets of the companies in the logistics and transportation sector with this certificate for many years, and to encourage them to take necessary precautions to realize their environmental impacts, Uğur continued: “The environmental impacts of the transportation and logistics sector and we are aware that it can exist together and together with its environment! We know that sustainable development and development is possible with low greenhouse gas emissions and low carbon policies. With this awareness and awareness, we try to contribute to the world, our country, our industry and our members. Sustainable Logistics Certificate, which is the first and only in the world, was also the best practice example in the international arena. After the certificate, we presented the contents of the certificate to FIATA (International Federation of Transportation Organizations Associations Federation), which is the worldwide federation of our sector, and Working Group Sustainable Logistics was established within FIATA with the leadership of UTİKAD. In the FIATA Sustainable Logistics Working Group, where UTİKAD is also a member of the main working group, studies on sustainability in transportation and logistics and environmental impacts are carried out. In addition, studies are being carried out with the United Nations and relevant institutions of the European Union on climate change and emission policies. We are also continuing our efforts to spread the Sustainable Logistics Certificate across FIATA member countries. ”

UTİKAD cooperates with Bureau Veritas, an international independent certification and auditing firm with a history of 186 years, and presents its “Sustainable Logistics Certificate”, which was created in line with the sector-specific requirements in order to direct companies in the logistics and transportation sector to sustainable growth.

Since 2014 has been certified in cooperation with the independent certification and inspection agency Bureau Veritas; aims to contribute to the sustainability of the environmental, social and financial assets of the companies in the logistics and transportation sector, especially the members of UTİKAD.
