The opening of Başkentray, which will serve 520 thousand people daily, will be held on April 12 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Başkentray, which will provide a suburban service between Sincan and Kayaş, will be operated every 15 minutes at the beginning and every 5 minutes in the future. Travel time between Başkentray and suburbs Kayaş-Sincan will decrease from 59 minutes to 49 minutes, and YHT's travel time between Ankara and Sincan will decrease from 17 minutes to 11 minutes.
Within the scope of the Başkentray Project, which is intended to create the necessary traffic capacity for high-speed trains, conventional trains and suburban operations, 4 between Ankara-Kayaş, 6 and Behiçbey-Sincan between 5 and Behiçbey-Sincan and an electric new railway with electric lines were constructed. Within the scope of the project, the construction of the 1 YHT gar and 23 suburban station, which are all designed for the use of disabled citizens, was completed. Closed commercial areas were created where passengers could meet their needs in Sincan, Lale, Elvankent, YHT Eryaman Gar, Etimesgut, Hippodrome, Yenişehir, Kurtuluş, Cebeci, Mamak and Kayaş stations.
Sincan Mayor Murat Ercan, who made evaluations about Başkentray, expressed that Başkentray project is a project that Sincan longed for. Ercan said, “The modernization work has been going on for a long time. Hopefully it will open with a ceremony that our President will also attend. With Başkentray, our citizens can go from Sincan to Kayaş in 49 minutes. Transportation will be provided in the comfort of the metro. Başkentray will take on a very important transportation burden. Sincan will take over 50 percent of the transportation burden. ”
